This issue’s fantastic cover, design by talented Swedish illustrator Edvard Scott, takes a new approach to the subject of how to be more creative. Scott’s clearly not short of ideas, so how does he go about answering such a challenging brief? “I’ve climbed Mount Everest without oxygen, I’ve seen Titanic on the bottom of the ocean, I’ve fought my way through the blistering cold of Siberia on a bike, I’ve journeyed the desert of Sahara on a camel and I’ve painted smiley faces on the statues at Easter Island,” he reveals. “Seriously? I’m 21 years old and it’s all about imagination.”

Over the last five years, graphic design has become an increasingly large part of Scott’s working life. “My work is something I ponder about every day,” he says. “Design has become a central part of my life simply because it’s fun. If I find something fun or entertaining I use it, learn it, and spend time with it wholeheartedly. I love doing this.”

Scott’s passion for his work is obvious, and his talent and enthusiasm have attracted a whole host of big-name companies working with animation, interactive media and print. Recent international and domestic clients include L’Oréal, Mini Cooper, T-Post, Shift Japan and Start Mobile, and his work has also been published in books and magazines such as Grafik, Wonderland, Arkitip, Butter and Beyond. Inspired by “anything and everything”, who knows what Scott will produce next…
